Silver and Copper Ion Conductors in the Solid State

چکیده

Materials exhibiting high ionic conductivities in the solid state at room temperature have mainly been found in silver ion conductors based on silver iodide and in copper ion conductors which are based on cuprous halide. Silver iodide and cuprous halide show low ionic conductivities at room temperature, while they are high conductivity solids at relatively higher temperatures. In order to obtain these high conductivity phases at room temperature, the introduction of foreign cations or anions into the lattice of silver iodide and cuprous halide has been attempted. In this paper, the various silver and copper ion high conductivity solids are reviewed and the proposed considerations for the mechanism of the ionic conduction are discussed.

Ionic Conductor Composites: Theory and Materials

The main theoretical concepts on ionic conduction at interfaces, especially the space charge layer model, are summarized in the ®rst part of this review: ion trapping or redistribution leads to charge carrier accumulation, depletion or inversion and, consequently, to conductivity changes in composite materials. Experimental con®rmations of the space charge layer model and the complementary perc...

Ink-jetted Silver/Copper conductors for printed RFID applications

Low-resistance printed conductors are crucial for the development of ultra-low cost electronic systems such as radio frequency identification tags. Low resistance conductors are required to enable the fabrication of high-Q inductors, capacitors, tuned circuits, and interconnects. Furthermore, conductors of appropriate workfunction are also required to enable fabrication of printed Schottky diod...

Silver-Doped Nanoclay with Antibacterial Activity

The aim of this study was to synthesize Ag-nanoclay composite by solid ion exchange, then characterize, and evaluate the antibacterial activity. This newly introduced ion exchange is a simple and low cost technique, which provides a quicker method. Without chemical treatment, nanoclay was subjected to an ion exchange process in media containing molten salt of silver at 300 and 400 °C and at dif...
